I would like to make all of my potential customers aware today of a business located in Green bay that is advertising their cleaning business as “a safe alternative to pressure washing”. They are making claims of  an “Exclusive SoftWash System”. Let me tell you what they refuse to inform you on. It means anywhere from 30 % to 40 %  toxic bleach! That is a crazy, irresponsible, and reckless way to clean. Exterior cleaning with bleach in these quantities can contaminate the ecosystem around your home. Bleach is a toxic chemical, and it can easily kill landscaping, pets, and people.

I have been in the pressure washing, roof cleaning business in Green Bay now for 24 years. I occasionally see a business that utilizes toxic bleach for cleaning pop up. They will always make claims of “a safe alternative to power washing”. Let me tell you the truth about the differences between using eco and bio-friendly solutions in conjunction with pressure, and using toxic bleach with no pressure. The use of pressure on a homes siding or deck will not hurt these surfaces in any way, shape, or form. A professional pressure washer will never, ever use toxic chloride bleach for cleaning. It is rule #1 on page #1 on the don’t ever do list!! If you see a business trying to sell you on an “Exclusive SoftWash System” that is a safe alternative to power washing, don’t walk away, run away.

They have the potential to be your worst nightmare. The DNR, along with OSHA and the department of agriculture are after these businesses. They have the power to issue fines of up to $50,000.00/day for using toxic bleach for exterior cleaning. These fines are not for the businesses, they are for you, and whom ever hires them to work on their property. Really unfair isn’t it? I know the gentleman that owns this business. He will only show you the eco-friendly solutions that only a small part of the cleaning concoction. What he is not showing you is the toxic chloride bleach that is added at a very strong ratio to make no pressure cleaning possible. Imagine a product that is eco and bio-friendly, that gets things perfectly clean without any pressure, and was actually safe! That product would be sold out at every Menards, home depot, and every hardware store everywhere!

The truth is, there is no such product. If there were, I’d be using it myself. Pressure washing your home is perfectly safe. Using bleach to clean it is not. It is really that simple. Why am I am I telling you about this fraudulent and irresponsible business? Because it is just a matter of time before they kill someone’s landscaping, pet, or toddler. When this does finally happen, they will just go out of business in Green bay, and move to another city. The repercussions though will be in peoples minds for a long time in our small community of Green bay. Few will trust the good and responsible companies that are still here. I would like you to know a little about myself and my business. My name is Tom Ward and I own AAA Professional Pressure Washing  and Window Cleaning. I am a pressure washing and window cleaning specialist with 20+ years of experience ( I also specialize in roof cleaning). Much of that experience is in the cleaning of vinyl siding and deck cleaning right here in Green Bay, WI. Beware of businesses like home advisor or thumbtack whom make their money off of  legitimate pressure washing companies in that they will basically give companies potential clients if you pay them so much per lead. That cost is very often passed on to you, the customer. Home advisor  or thumbtack will tell you the businesses they deal with are pre-screened. Trust me, everyone is approved who will pay their fee. The Better Business Bureau screens businesses more thoroughly than home advisor or thumbtack ever would. I have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau for a reason. Little or no complaints over the last 18 years, and many, many satisfied customers. The best advertising, along with my website, is word of mouth. If you do a good job for a customer in a particular neighborhood, I almost always get several more jobs because you have done a nice job for the original customer. I have seen a lot of companies come and go since 1996, when I started AAA Professional pressure washing. I have lasted because I do a good job for all my customers for a fair price. I have had opportunities to get bigger as a business, but choose to keep it a smaller business, and forgo the headaches that employees, often unprofessional or just lazy, can bring. I own my business, and I do ALL work!

Black streaking on the north face of roofs is a problem for almost every home owner in our community, mainly because that side of the home gets very little sun.
